Who Should Pursue a Master of Science in Environment and Sustainability Sciences?

Job seekers with bachelor's degrees in science who want to enter the workforce after graduation.

Mid-career professionals who want to make a career change, use the degree for career advancement, enhance their skills in their current positions or pursue a doctoral degree.

Admission

Admission is open to males and females of all nationalities.

An earned bachelor’s degree in science from an accredited university recognized by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.0 (or 2.5 for conditional admission) or higher on a 4.0 point scale or equivalent.

English language proficiency:

A TOEFL score of 213 CBT, 79 iBT (or 197 CBT, 71 iBT for conditional admission), or

An IELTS (Academic) overall band score of not less than 6.0 (or 5.5 for conditional admission), or

Evidence that the applicant is a native speaker of English who has completed his/her undergraduate education in an English medium institution in a country where English is the official language.

“Joining the Master of Science in Environment and Sustainability Sciences has been one of the most rewarding decisions of my career. The program let me explore topics that match my interests while expanding my expertise.

A highlight of my studies was the field expedition to Jordan where I worked on environmental challenges alongside the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) and the Petra Tourism Development Region Authority (PDTRA) – an experience that brought classroom learning to life. Another highlight has been the development of my master’s research thesis, where I used a geographic information system (GIS) and remote sensing technology to study black carbon levels in the UAE. With strong research support and access to advanced tools I created work that was both meaningful and rewarding. Presenting my research at the Euro-Mediterranean Conference for Environmental Integration (EMCEI) hosted in Italy boosted my confidence and connected me with leading experts in the environmental field.
